These animations use java. If java is not installed on your computer, or if your browser does not support applets, then the animations may not run.
The size of the animated images are generally large(typically 1200 X 1200 pixels), so the animations may take awhile to load. The images on this page were created with Fred's Fractal Viewer. Palette animations work on many kinds of images. They do not have to be fractals, but fractals tend to work well. Eventually, I intend to release a toolkit for designing palette animations.
